emily meltzer, director of development and communications
Emily Meltzer has dedicated her career to supporting basic needs and social services organizations in Washington State through strategic fundraising and communications. Emily previously worked for Building Changes and helped establish the Washington State Student and Youth Homelessness COVID-19 Response Fund, which raised over $4M to support organizations, tribes, and school districts across the state. Emily also served as the Director of Development & Communications for Accelerator Y (now known as Y Social Impact Center), a division of the YMCA of Greater Seattle. In this role, Emily was responsible for overseeing the development and execution of fundraising, communications, and volunteerism strategies for the Y’s housing, education, employment, foster care, and behavioral health programs. Emily has also worked for Food Lifeline, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle.
Emily is a proud alumni of the University of Vermont and received the Young Alumni of the Year award in 2017. She enjoys being civically involved; she is currently volunteering with Friends of Hutchinson Playground and recently served on the Pedestrian Advisory Board for the City of Seattle. In her spare time, Emily enjoys going to concerts, drinking tea, and throwing pottery on the wheel.
